Pest Control A photography project by Tania Franco Klein

Pest Control series is a fictional representation of the contemporary fear, hysteria, and disconnection that exists within contemporary societies.

As a result of the increased panic created by the media, the anti-pigeon spikes that once belong to adorn the most surrealistic places, particularly places of transition (non-places, Augรฉ 1995), in cities like London, Paris, Barcelona, New York, etc. Extend to invade both literally and figuratively the people and the masses of this photographic series.

The collective fear towards pigeons is used in a satirical way as a metaphor to emphasise the fractured relationships that exist within society and the revulsion generated by the media towards everything that seems different in terms of ideology, ethnicity, religion, or any factor that might threaten our โ€œpeacefulโ€ lifestyle.
