Landscape photography is one of the oldest form of photography and can offer the viewer feelings of hope, isolation or peace, reflecting both the identity of the photographer and the spirit of the land. When taking a picture of a landscape, just like in a portrait or a scene, photographers attempt to tell a story. From compelling urban scenes to minimalist and undeniable pulls towards the earth, we wanted to discover and celebrate all the beauty and joy that nature can provide.!

Jury's Feedback
First Prize: Klaus Lenzen
โI like the way this picture takes the definition of landscape to an abstract level. The camera viewpoint could transcend the place itself and suggest a representation of the inner world of the photographer, adding on a spiritual quality to the image. Iโm seeing a mine but thanks to the photographerโs choice the real subject is removed, leaving the synesthesia sight-feeling open for the viewer.โ โ Luca Tombolini
Second Prize: Sean Du
โThe richness of tonal range, subtle colors and majesty of the scene are the elements that make this image stand out. As Romanticism did in painting, in this photograph I find the ability to elevate nature to a place where man could find the divine and the spiritual. If oneโs soul is keen to it, hereโs a good glimpse of these metaphysical stancesโฆโ โ Luca Tombolini
Honorary Mention: Steven Manolakis
โA spectacular palette of colors and textures displays all the complexity and majesty of the earthโs surface from above. Perfectly framed, this abstract aerial shot is a gentle reminder of all the beauty and fragility that can be found in nature: An eternal source of inspiration that deserves no less than our utmost care, and respect.โ

Capturing flawless natural scenes through a slow and meditative process, photographer Luca Tombolini uses landscapes as a synecdoche to question Time, Space, Universe and our relation to them.
Using large format cameras, Luca has traveled to several deserts of the world over the years and explored them as the place most likely to provide clues about the origin of life, in an attempt to seize the majesty and spirituality of primordiale landscapes.
A member of The Independent Photographerโs community, Lucaโs work has been exhibited internationally and featured widely in online and Print magazines such as Der Greif, Another Place, Itโs Nice that, Collateral, Aye mag and CondรฉNast Traveller.
