Landscape photography is one of the oldest forms of photography. When taking a picture of a landscape, just like in a portrait or a scene, photographers attempt to tell a story and we wanted to discover and celebrate all the beauty and joy that nature can provide.

1ST PRIZE: Louise Coghill
โThis image really stands out to me. With different layers, each more interesting than the other, The foreground seems full of change dynamic. The background and crop are suggesting that this image is only a small fraction of the entire forest. The used focal length and therefore compression of the scene was the perfect choice. Details and colors are very natural and lovely exposed. Clearly my favorite!โ โ Hannes Becker
2ND PRIZE: Alex Armitage
โA well-balanced photograph with the main subject mirroring on both axis, horizontally and vertically. Mood and light are spectacular and really enhance the scene. The complimentary orange and blue are creating a beautiful color pattern. Overall the landscape looks very unique.โ โ Hannes Becker
3RD PRIZE: Jim Kostecky
Through the dexterous application of slow shutter speed and a โpanningโ technique, Kostecky transcribes the lakeโs surface into a delicate, abstract composition that conveys a palpable serenity, and immediately, and simultaneously, evokes the watercolor masterworks of the great impressionist painters; Rothkoโs expressive landscapes, and Andreas Gurskyโs iconic panorama, Rhein II.

Hannes Becker is a German-based photographer and licensed drone operator specializing in outdoors, adventures, and landscapes.
Passionate about traveling, he has used the platform Instagram for the last seven years to share his impressions on a daily basis. He quickly became one of the worldโs most-followed travel photographers.
In order to inspire the viewer and portray his experiences realistically, he aims not only to document his travels in nature but incorporate his personal interpretation with particular importance on composition, mood, and lighting.
