Jury's Feedback
1ST PRIZE: Stefano Lotumolo
โThe intriguing thing about this image is the way that the figures in the ceremonial dress and masks are juxtaposed with the young boy gazing up at them wearing a modern shirt in the same color palette. The light, the composition, and the framing of the figures between the windows direct the eye towards the main focal point and then the small boy acts as a counterpoint. It is a gentle but vivid contrast between traditionalism and modernity.โ โ Steve McCurry
2ND PRIZE: Emilio Fuliotti
โThis action-packed picture has all of the elements of a good sports image. The hands are almost on the ball, and as the ball landed in the water it created a circular pattern. The man looking from the pier has body language that suggests animation and expectation of the outcome of the diving man. The drilling platform in the background creates the triangular effect that makes this picture strong.โ โ Steve McCurry
3RD PRIZE: Shyjith Onden Cheriyath
โA stunning image that could well grace the cover of National Geographic. The creative framing, with the camel herderโs hand anchoring from the left, adds depth and perspective and immerses the viewer in the scene. The rich hues, from the bottle-green water to the blue sky, the orange camel muzzle, and the subtle red headscarf, showcase a keen eye for light and color, engendering a painterly quality. It is both a powerful piece of storytelling that immortalizes a fading tradition and a captivating piece of art that encapsulates the essence of travel.โ โ The Independent Photographer Editors
